Carlos Gussenhoven教授为荷兰内梅亨大学普通和实验音系学系荣誉教授、欧洲人文和自然科学学院（Academia Europaea）院士，同时担任《实验音系学》（Journal of Laboratory Phonology）、《语言学评论》（The Linguistic Review）等期刊编委，主要研究领域为语音学、音系学，在声调语言、语调和韵律研究方面享有国际声誉。

讲座内容提要：

The Stress Deafness test was devised by Emmanual Dupoux and colleagues to show that French listeners consistently distinguish themselves from listeners who speak a language with contrastive stress. It relies on the ability to remember a sequence of some four stimuli that differ only in stress locations (location 1 vs location 2). I will argue on the basis of results from different languages that the crucial feature needed for success in the task is a lexically marked prominence feature. A prominence feature which does not rely on lexical marking does not count.
