主讲人简介：

Dr. Bertha Du-Babcock is Associate Professor at City University of Hong Kong.  She is currently in her second term as the Vice President for the Asia and the Pacific Region of the Association of Business Communication.  

The major focus of her research encompasses three aspects. The first aspect has focused on the refining and expanding of the language-based communication zones model. The second aspect of the research focus has been on the first-and second-language communication behaviors of bilinguals in intra-and intercultural communication. The third aspect of the research focuses on simulations and telecommunication projects that can enhance teaching effectiveness in management and organizational communication courses. Du-Babcock’s research has been published in various international refereed journals including: Journal of Business and Technical Communication, Iberica, Journal of Business Communication, Management Communication Quarterly, Business Communication Quarterly, Journal of Asia-Pacific Business, Journal of Asia-Pacific Communication, Intercultural Communication Studies. She is the co-author (with M. E. Guffey) of the Asian Edition of Essentials of Business Communication. She co-edited a special issue on Business and Professional Communication in Asia for the Journal of Business and Technical Communication.   

Du-Babcock has been an editorial review board member for Journal of Business Communication and Business Communication Quarterly since 2001.  Du-Babcock also is on the editorial review boards of Management Communication Quarterly and Global Advances in Business Communication Journal, and ATTW book series.  She has been a guest reviewer for English for Specific Purposes Journal, Euro Asia Journal of Management, Journal of Tourism Management, and IEEE. She is a Research Proposal Assessor for Australian Research Council, PhD thesis External Examiner for Hong Kong Polytechnic University and VIT University (India), and managerial communication course examiner for Open University of Hong Kong.
