内容提要：

在这个讲座中，David Johnson教授将检视语言政策民族志的理论与方法贡献，强调从经验研究所获得的研究发现。Johnson教授将从语言政策研究的理论和方法研究史来梳理语言政策民族志产生的语境，提倡民族志研究的理论和方法框架。语言政策民族志面临的挑战、学术贡献和前沿论辩问题也将提出讨论。

专家简介：

Dr. David Johnson，美国爱荷华大学副教授，宾夕法尼亚大学教育语言学博士，曾在华盛顿州立大学、赤道几内亚国立大学和哥斯达黎加大学任教。研究方向有社会语言学、语言政策与语言规划、话语分析等，在《应用语言学》《TESOL季刊》《语言政策》《批判话语学》《语言社会学国际期刊》等SSCI国际期刊发表过多篇论文，出版专著Language Policy（2013，Palgrave Macmillan）已在2016年由外语教学与研究出版社翻译出版，是一本语言政策与语言规划领域的综合性权威著作。

Ethnography of Language Policy: Theory, Method, and Findings

In this presentation, I examine the theoretical and methodological contributions from the ethnography of language policy and highlight the findings from empirical research. I begin with a brief overview of the theoretical and methodological history of the field and situate the ethnography of language policy therein. I then propose a theoretical and methodological framework for conducting empirical studies. Finally, I examine potential contributions from ethnographies of language policy as well as challenges and debates going forward.
